These cards were inspired by a woman and young girl that I recently had seen while staying at a campground.    I had an inkling that their small tent may have been their temporary home.  My family was out on a walk one eveining and as we passed them, we saw a frustrated and short tempered man pull up and began yelling and being disrespectful to this woman and her daughter.  I don't know their story.  I don't know their relationship.  I don't know anything about them.  All I do know is that I saw sorrow in their eyes, and my heart longed to tell them of God's love for them.  I wanted to run over and tell the man to leave until he had cooled down.  I wanted to hug them and offer some sort of hope to them that there is a Man who knows their sorrows, and is willing to guide them to safety.  After he had left, I wished I had a small copy of my painting to offer them, to break the ice and to offer my love and help in any way that I could.  I was nervous and shy, and regret not going over there, because I missed my chance...
Since then I have seen countless people with a similar sadness in their eyes; a tired cashier; a lonely widow; an overworked father.  I've crossed paths with so many people that I know could use a little extra love for whatever reason, and each one has reminded me that I have something to offer them.  It's not everything, but I know it's something.  I know the power the Spirit has in comforting and testifying of Christs love. I also know once I've broken the ice with this small gift, that the same spirit can help guide me to know what more I can do.
I promised myself I would make these little cards to always keep with me to give away, so that I never again find myself regretting not sharing the love I know this world needs.
